Leisure Time - A Spa at Home and How to Enjoy It

Just when you think you have time for yourself, guess what you don't, something comes up or happens. You must set aside a weekly down time or wind down time or me time or my space time or my weekly sabbatical. Whatever you call it, you need this time for yourself in order to survive today's hectic lifestyle.
The first thing you must do is decide on which day and what time you will be able to do this and stick to it. Make sure there are no distractions, like unannounced visitors and telephone calls.
The items you will need or things you must do to accomplish quiet spa time are:
1. Unplug or turn off the phone
2. Turn off the computer, lap top or television
3. Turn on soft, low music
4. Place soft soothing scents through out the house
5. Place candles around (be safe in placing the candles)
6. Prepare your cozy bed with nice, soft scented clean linen
7. Get a fluted glass and effervescent beverage (Perrier or sparkling water) and place on a tray
8. Place your bath robe and/or lingerie on the bed
9. Prepare a light snack of fruit (grapes, strawberries or your choice)
10. Prepare your bath water (use bubble bath or other soothing bath oil or none)
11. Set up lotion, oil or cream after bath (your favorite)
12. One nice big fluffy towel and a chair or bench
13. Get a book, magazine, or other relaxing item for after bath
Make sure you have all the above set up (add extras or other items if you wish) and prepared in order to enjoy and maximize your experience. Once you have every thing together, gently lower yourself in the tub to start your down time. While bathing just enjoy the soft scents, soothing water, low music and lights. Try to block out all the worries and stresses for the past week and just relax.
After bathing, thoroughly dry off and sit on a chair or bench and slowly massage the lotion, oil or cream all over your body. Put on your robe and sit in a big comfortable chair for awhile (as long as you like). Don't do anything, but drink your beverage, eat your fruit and listen to music. At this point you may want to read a book or magazine, as long as the material don't stress you out.
When you are ready for bed, disrobe and place on your lingerie. Turn off the music blow out the candles. Once you are in bed you may continue reading or you may want to sleep.
Upon awakening in the morning, you will be surprised at how relaxed and carefree you will feel.
Some people don't know to have a leisure time at home. If you followed these steps, you should be able to do the same thing next week on a regular basis.
